Cocchi Americano is a white aromatized wine, specifically an aperitif, produced by Giulio Cocchi in Asti, Italy, since 1891. It's known for its unique blend of white wine, sugar, and a secret recipe of herbs and spices, notably including gentian, cinchona, and bitter orange peel. The name "Americano" is thought to derive from both the bittering process (made with herbs and spices) and the American habit of drinking vermouth with ice and soda.
