Tasting notes: You have to take your time to extract the many flavors and fragrances from the overall sip because they are so intricately entwined. Aroma: It opens with a powerful scent that is loaded with juicy notes and sits on top of old wood. Palate: The palate changes from this pleasing fruity beginning to one that is obviously dry and full of earthy characteristics. The time spent in the Cognac barrels is wonderfully highlighted, yet it doesn't quite live up to the nose. Finish: Dryer undertones of lingering spice mark the aftertaste. This bourbon is a nice barrel-aged finished product all around.
